Tutorial: Criss Cross Card by Suzanne :)

Good morning! Suzanne here from Scrap With Suzy to share with you another fun card fold :) We are going to make a "Criss Cross" card today:

First, you will need one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock for your card base. Cut your paper in half so you will have 2 pieces at 4 1/4" x 11. Score your paper at 5  1/2":

Adhere 2 sides together, so you have a 4 1/4" x 16 1/2" long piece, scored at 5 1/2" and 11":

Next, use your paper trimmer to cut each end in a diagonal. Ink the edges of all of your folds and sides:

Here is what your "Criss Cross" card will look like closed:

Now, the cover the panels of your card with your choice of patterned papers.  I used the Crate Paper "Restorations" 6x6 pad. I marked my paper with a pencil to get precise measurements for each layer:

Now, we can't mail our card with a bone folder holding it closed ;) So, use a strip of 1" x12" cardstock to wrap around your card, crease, and adhere. I used the Martha Stewart "doily lace" border punch on mine.  The seam will eventually be in the back:

The finishing touch is embellishing your band. I used a smaller strip of patterned paper from the same collection, a Paper  Smooches sentiment, and a pinwheel flower from American Crafts:

Here's my finished card :)

I hope you give this fun card a try! It also makes a great invitation :)
