Special Guest: Aphra with a {{sketch}} challenge!

Good morning!

Suzanne here posting for Abby. She's been without internet for over a week :( Poor girl! Fingers crossed they fix it soon and she's back online. xoxo.

Welcome to a special guest this week at The Paper Variety! We are honored to feature an exclusive sketch by Aphra Bolyer. I am such a huge fan of Aphra's work :) Her blog is full of inspiration.

Aphra Bolyer

Hi everyone!  My name is Aphra, and I live down South in Louisiana with my Alaskan oil man Jeff and our two boys, ages 11 and 4. While my husband is tromping around in the Alaskan tundra for weeks at a time, I'm home working part-time at a doctor's office, chasing around two rowdy boys and our miniature dachshund Max, and staying up into the wee hours of the night scrapbooking.

I fell in love with this hobby back in 2000 when my oldest son was born, and I get more and more addicted with each new product release. It's my passion, my creative outlet, my sanity! Mostly, I create layouts of my family, but I also enjoy making cards, gifts, and decor. Honestly, I will use any excuse to play with paper and glue!

And here's the sketch she designed exclusively for TPV for this week's challenge:

Here is the layout she created with yummy Jillibean Soup goodies:

We also welcome guest design team member, Kristie Wilson!
Hi TPV Fans!  My name is Kristie and I live in Connecticut with my husband, Mike, and our highly energetic dog, Amber.  I have been papercrafting for over 7 years, having started with scrapbooking and then added rubber stamping and card making. When I'm not in my craftroom, you'll find me curled up with my Kindle or a paperback book. I was so excited to see this sketch challenge, we just got back from Walt Disney World last Friday and I couldn't wait to start scrapping our trip! Thank you TPV for having me as today's Guest Designer!

And inspiration from our Team A designers:

What a fun sketch. It was a bit of a challenge to make the 4 photos look right next to each other, but everything came together.

This was a fun sketch to work with.  I did some tweeking to make it work with one photo and my crazy pattern papers :)

Ah, how I LOVE playing with sketches!!!  They make it so much easier to create and it's unbelievable how just one sketch can inspire so many different layouts. I decided to use 2 different sketches for this double-pager.  I used Aphra's awesome sketch as inspiration for the left side of my layout as you can see.  Visit my blog to see what else inspired me this week and lots of close-ups! :-)

Wow! If seeing Aphra's versatile sketch and her, our guest designer, and design team's layouts were not incentive enough. Check out this week's prize!!

Can't wait to see your creations!! :)

Here is this week's design team inspiration:

Here's a fun, multi-photo layout about my son's first Easter!

For my project, I decided to make a welcome home card. The black house is a Silhouette shape, but everything else is cut by hand.

Even though the temps are still in the 90's here in Florida, I felt that I needed a new wreath for my front door.  So I decided to create some "home decor" for this week's challenge.  I fussy cut the scarecrow and pumpkin from Bella Blvd's fall collection from last year.  The scarecrow kept wanting to flop over so I glued a craft stick onto the back of him.  I made the banner with a combination of Thickers and the silk flowers, grapevine wreath and ribbon were all recycled from last year's fall wreath.

For this week's challenge I chose to do a home decor! I have had this "tray frame" in my scraproom for almost a year now, and didn't get to scrap any Halloween pictures of my daughter's first Halloween yet since she was 2 months old at that time and I was not scrapping yet ;-) so this was the perfect opportunity to alter this frame and put in some of her first Halloween photo's! I had a lot of fun with it!

I really enjoyed making this canvas for this weeks Home project. This canvas has been made using lots of layers of papers and small touches of paint and pen. The canvas is 12x16", and the entire background is covered with ripped layers of papers. Above this I have used small amounts of paint, mists and tissue paper to add texture. The house has been made purely from paper, using basic shapes to layer up and create the house. I am really pleased with it, I have wanted to create it for quite some time. :)

I made this sappy little card for my hubby when he goes on a business trip. I used papers from Basic Grey's "Sweet Threads". Lately, I'm addicted to 6x6 pads! :)

We can't wait to see what you come up with for our "home" challenge.  One entry per person please. Link up before Sunday evening for a chance to have your blog featured and before Tuesday at noon for a chance at the prize from Paper Lovelies.

Want to be a guest designer for an upcoming challenge? Link your project to our Facebook wall and let us know! :)

Have a great week.

Hello. My name is MarĂa and I´m from Costa Rica. I discovered scrapbooking three years ago and I inmediately fell in love… I´m married to a wonderful man and we have two lovely kids, of course I scrap about my family most of the time.
I love two scrapbooking styles: shabby chic and bright and colorful. I usually scrap on weekends, because I work full time as a Languege & Literature teacher (I wake up a 4:00a.m everyday!)
It´s such a honor for me to be GD here at TPV. I love to play with Abby & Suzanne´s challenges every week. Thanks for the opportunity!

Trust me, you WON'T be disappointed.

In honor of our fabulous sponsor, this week's challenge is a sticky situation :)

USE STICKERS!

Flat stickers, 3D stickers, cardstock, chipboard, sentiment ..
if it's a STICKER it's fair game!

Join us Friday when we share more about this great company :)

SRM Stickers was {{so}} generous as to provide ALL members of our design team with their fabulous product. THANK YOU SRM STICKERS!

Check out their projects:

I absolutely loved working with SRM stickers!  They look so crisp and I was able to throw these cards together in no time at all :)

I really enjoyed working with SRM stickers, they have some lovely sentiments and they are so simple and quick to use. :)

I just love the ease of use you get with SRM Stickers!  They are so handy for adding that perfect sentiment to a card.  Here I layered some papers and did some fussy cutting.

I had fun with this card using SRM stickers! They are so versatile, I used them on top of some chip board.. I embossed the green card stock with my favorite cuttlebug pattern, and added some misc embellies to the card!

The stickers are so versatile for layouts , OTP , ATC and cards. The birthday stickers were so perfectly matched for my papers, so i decided to make a few birthday cards.

SRM Stickers are so versatile and definitely a MUST-HAVE in any serious scrapbooker's stash, especially for card-making.  There is nothing as easy as just peeling off a sentiment and sticking it to a card!  And look at the cute borders too!  Thank you SRM!

These stickers are so much fun, and so easy to use-I used several on this card alone. I have more projects on my blog using SRM stickers as well-feel free to check them out! :)

I have been a big fan of SRM stickers for some time and have quite a collection.  They are so easy to use on cards and layouts.

I really wanted to create something other than a card with the SRM stickers. I thought the Halloween stickers were perfect for a layout.

I've been on a Halloween kick, so I couldn't resist making a card with this cute sentiment :)

Abby
I love SRM stickers! So quick and simple :) I'll be using them again and again!

Are you inspired? Link up your paper projects that include a sticker below. Remember, one entry per person and link back to TPV so others may enjoy our challenges as well to be eligible for the prize package provided by SRM Stickers!

Have a great week!
