Yep, it's Suzanne here and today is my birthday! Ah!
As my students so eagerly have been asking all week, "Well, how old are you going to be?!" Ah, the things we learn in the first grade. Never ask a woman her age. LOL. Of course, their "guesses" were all over the map. 55? 79? 45? Ah, the second thing we learn in the first grade. Always shoot lower when guessing a woman's age. Oh, so around 15? Gotta love six year olds! One extreme to the other.
Here's some hints for you {that of course were not so helpful to them!}
I played with...
I watched...
I *may* have been caught wearing my hair like this..
What do you think? How old am I today? Leave a comment on this post with your guess and I will be sending a birthday "goodie bag" to one lucky correct guess!
So, as you can see. Our challenge this week isn't a birthday one (well it could be). But it's all about the numbers!
And we have a new sponsor to welcome to The Paper Variety!
We Scrap Kits is a lovely Etsy store with wonderful (and budget friendly!) kits full of papers, embellishments and inspiration.
This week's winner receive their Whimsy Kit!
To enter to win this prize, just submit a paper project that includes a NUMBER! ;)
The Team B designers have wonderful examples of inspiration to share with you!
Shannon's layouts never disappoint, with her unique scrappy style. Love this candid pic of her kiddos and the title she made with mixed alphas. The different numbers are neat in the collage mat she created!
Jan said, "April is a big month for us! Lots of birthdays, Easter, Spring Break and of course, Tax Day! I used a variety of numbers on my calendar; stickers, Thickers, bingo markers, a domino, a clock face, birthday candles, rubs, and words out of beads and metal alphabets."
Mindy said, "I spent Spring Break at my Mom's house & while I was there I climbed through the attic to find a wonderful box full of pictures. I had been keeping this paper for the longest time, and I finally found the perfect picture to go with it!"
Patti said, "In December of 2010, I turned 50 years old. It was the first birthday that I was really not looking forward to. It was a wonderful birthday though, one that I will always remember. Being 50 is not bad -- I was able to get my first senior discount this week! I saved 10%!! :) :)"
Tessa said, "Doing all these senior portrait layouts of my sister Elizabeth makes it easy to include a number :). Whoo hoo class of 2011!"
Mel said, "Sure feels good to be scrappin' again after a pretty long hiatus! When I saw this new line from Colorbok the first time, I had to have some of it right away, and I loved using so many different patterned papers to accent this photo of me, my Mom, and my niece Olivia from January."
This week, we want to welcome guest designer..
Sandi created these adorable counting flashcards for her granddaughter using supplies from her stash and an upcycled swatch book! You can go to Sandi's blog to see more pictures and information on how she created this project ;) Love how it is adorable and educational!
Now, it's your turn!
Upload your paper projects that include a number for a chance to win this week's prize.
One entry per person. Please see our other guidelines here :)
Don't forget to leave a comment guessing my age today for a chance to win a goodie bag! :)

ReplyDeleteGreat examples for the challenge this week. x
I am going to guess 33 because I watched all of those and that is how old I am. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Birthday!!! :-)
Just want you (and all those who guessed ages in the 20s or 30s because they grew up with those things) to know that I lived through Smurfs, Ninja Turtles and Easy Bakes with my children!! I'll also tell you that all of the tv shows you've listed lasted so long that an entire generation, probably older than you, grew up with them, too. My youngest is now 41 and I doubt that you're that old. I'd guess 33. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a tricky question. :) These items are familiar to me as my children played with or watched them. Soooooo... thinking of their ages, I'm going to say 34. Thanks so much!! Oh... and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats.. i am guessing 39. Fabulous prize, great # projects by DT....and Happy Birthday.

have a very happy birthday. I am guessing in your 30's which is a great place to be :)
ReplyDeleteI played along! I'm guessing your age is 35. :)
ReplyDeleteI read a lot of the guesses, the majority put you in your early 30's. I just turned 41, and I had a Cabbage Patch and a Rubicks Cube. I also had an Easy Bake oven, but mine was one of the original, aqua blue ones! I watched smurfs, but TMNT, was popular when my nephew was little and he is only 27..... hmmmmmm I'm going with 40, dont be offended!xxoo
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun!! I'm going to guess that you're a little younger than me, so... 39??
ReplyDeleteI LOVED cabbage patch dolls and I will be 30 next month so I'm going with 30.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
I grew up with all that stuff too so I'm going to guess 35?

You are 31
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna guess you're about 28. You are probably a year younger than that guessing on your hints. Seeing as my oldest is also an 80's child as she was in 85' so you can't be much older than her. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, my gues is 27, enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. I think you will be 30!! Have a nice day! Love, Marianne
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to guess 28
Happy Birthday!!! I guess 33 :)
ReplyDeleteOK, since you gave a clue "Child of the 80s", I'm going to assume that you weren't BORN in the 80s or you wouldn't have really remembered the 80s. That being true, I'm going to revise my guess and say you just turned 40. :-) You have no idea how young 40 seems to me now. My baby is 41 and will be 42 this year!
ReplyDeletei think a child of the eighties means you're a bit younger than me so i'll say 35.
ReplyDeletekathleen mc xx
I'm guessing you're 29
ReplyDeleteI will guess 36! Happy Birthday whatever the age, may you have many, many more!
ReplyDeleteCirclebenterprises.com
Happy birthday! I would say .... 33! That is my oldest dd's age and I think it sounds like what was "in" when she was a kid.
ReplyDeleteOk so I am changing my guess to 31!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I'm guessing that you are 39!!
ReplyDeleteAw, this was an extremely high quality submit. In theory Id prefer to create such as this too taking some time to real work to create a very good report but exactly what do I say My partner and i delay doing things a large amount and don’t appear to go done. agorazoellinika.org
ReplyDeleteI precisely wished to appreciate you again. I am not sure what I would’ve worked on in the absence of those techniques provided by you concerning that industry. This has been the scary case in my opinion, but taking note of the skilled avenue you processed it took me to jump over contentment. I am happy for your advice and in addition hope you recognize what an amazing job you are always doing training people through the use of a web site.
