It's School Week at TPV!

Welcome to week 35 at The Paper Variety!
We're nearing the end of May and students and school staff are anticipating the last day of class as summer vacation is right around the corner. Suzanne and I both work in education, and I can honestly say, we are counting those days by the hours and minutes! :)

Perhaps you plan to create a thank you card/gift for your child's teacher... or you'll be taking photos of your child's graduation (or you have photos of your own!)... you might be a teacher and want to make some cute little gifts for your students. Or maybe (if you're like me) you have years of school portraits just waiting to be scrapbooked.

We'd love to see your school themed projects!

-Prize-
TPV is sponsoring this challenge and will award this Crate Paper "School Spirit" kit to one lucky randomly chosen winner! :)

Need a little push to get scrappy?
Check out these A+ school theme projects from our TPV DT! :)

Marilyn
A memory when my daughter was in Pre-Kinder. Oh my, times flies!!! I used DCWV Pattern Papers.

I made a mini album for my daughter, I'll fill this album with her photos from Kindergarten so she can have something to remember when she grow up :)

This challenge is great...it gave me the push I needed to scrap this picture of my dad when he was in first grade.

It seems like yesterday, the first day going to school to pickup your uniforms and working books. Finally, I scrapped our school memories. I used a sketch from Sassafras manufacturer's blog.

Ready for school! My brother and sister in 1966 with all their school supplies. I used a sketch from October Afternoon and almost all supplies are from OA as well!

For my school theme project, I decided to make some cute little gift card holders for teachers! What teacher wouldn't love getting one of these, right? ;)

I decided to make a mini album (my first ever!) for my son's grade school photos. I used Crate Paper's School Spirit collection, the TPV prize this week. You can view the inside pages on my blog. :)

Now it's your turn!
Get out all your "school supplies" - paper, scissors and glue - and link up your school themed paper project below.
Link before Sunday evening for a chance to be featured in our Spotlight. Link before Tuesday noon for your chance at the Crate Paper prize! :)

One entry per person. Challenge rules can be found by clicking here.

Have fun!

Are you a *star* tonight?

So many wonderful STAR entries this week! :) It was hard to pick 2 to spotlight!

Fellow Team B DT member Jan chose to feature Susan Zennario's playful layout!

Jan added: "I love the way Susan used stars 3 differnt ways!  Using
them on the banner is a great idea, love them as the center
for her handmade flower and the clustered stars tie it altogether!"
I chose to feature Julie's fabulous boy layout!

I recently picked up this Crate Paper collection and love how Julie used some of the labels and patterned papers. Doesn't that currogated cardboard make the page?

Congratulations Susan and Julie!!

Star Studded Challenge!!

Good Morning!!

Welcome to another challenge at The Paper Variety! I had so much fun looking at the movie themed projects last week. You girls bring it every week! Whether you are faithful follower, just stopping by, or new to our blog - welcome to another fun challenge! ;)

You have until next Tuesday at noon to link up your project below:

We will draw one random winner to receive this week's prize - sponsored by Technique Tuesday!

Isn't this 2 page layout so fun?! You will receive everything needed to create this project. I love those star frames and banners!

Design Team B were super STARS this week :) Check out these projects:

Jan said, "I based this card on a sketch by Nicole Samuels. I used some of my favorite things on it; Strano Ribbon, hand stitching and SRM Stickers!"

Mindy said, "I wanted to make a card for my hubby that was masculine! I've been sick this week and although I give my poor hubby a hard time, I am really lucky to have him and I just wanted to let him know that!!"

Patti said, "I used some Webster's "let's celebrate" pp to make my card. I embossed the word "FAMILY" and pop dotted the star."

Tessa said, "I am always drawn to stars as embellishments for boy pages. For this layout I tried the reverse applique technique: I cut stars out of my background, distressed the edges, and then adhered a patterned paper to the back of my layout, allowing the design to show through the spaces I had cut out. I also used foam adhesive to pop up several smaller stars."

Melissa

Melissa said, "Inspired by my Mom and her love of books, I've been doing a lot more reading lately. I thought it would be cool to have a place to record the books I'm reading, and that inspired me to create this mini-book, using supplies from the Little Boy collection by Echo Park. I just used index cards adhered back to back for the pages. Simple, but fun and easy to make."

I just ordered this all occasion Hero Arts stamp set and had to use the July 4th sentiment a few months early! I just love this patriotic silhouette.

We can't wait to see what star-studded project you create this week! Whether you use patterned paper, die cuts, stamps or other media - link up your paper project below for a chance to win.

One entry per person please! :)

Link up before Sunday evening for a chance to be featured and before noon on Tuesday to be eligible for the prize.

Have a great day!
